A Scrumptious Gathering with Anupreet Attridge
A day event centred around beautiful nutritious food and the art of using spices in Indian cooking.
On Saturday 8th June (hopefully in the midst of a British Summer!) Bristol-based Recipe Writer, Cookery Teacher and Self-Taught Chef Anupreet Attridge will be offering a day centred around beautifully nourishing food whose ingredients will be locally & seasonally sourced as well as being vegetarian/vegan and refined sugar-free. Anupreet’s first cookbook ‘Cook, Fuse, Eat’ is due to be published later this year and will be making an appearance at Chefs’ Theatre at the Bristol Foodies Festival again this year.
Arriving at 10am in the morning, you will have some time to settle in and meet others while you enjoy a delicious hot drink. We will then sit together and everyone will be served their very own Smoothie Bowl consisting of a creamy vibrant bowl of blended yogurt and fruit topped by delicious fruit, cereal, nuts all tailored to your individual dietary preferences.
Following this, we will head out (weather permitting) for a gentle walk of the stunning Mendip Hills guided by Vanessa. Back at the Barn, we will spend some time exploring the various spices that Anupreet loves to use in cooking. She will also explain how she intuitively blends, balances and uses spices and with her guidance, you will have the opportunity to make your own blend of spices for a personalised ‘curry’ that you get to take home, along with a recipe to accompany it.
You then get some time to leisurely relax inside or go outside to take in the beautiful country breeze while you chat and mingle with others or just enjoy some quiet time to yourself.
At around 2pm we will sit together again to enjoy a meal prepared by Anupreet consisting of warming dhal, beans, spiced seasonal vegetables, nourishing salads, aromatic rice & Indian bread all served to share. Again, weather permitting we will sit outside to enjoy our meal. The menu for the day will be developed to suit the dietary requirements of the attendees but will be vegetarian/vegan and will be released a week before the date. A range of drinks and very light nibbles will be provided throughout the day.
The day will come to a gentle end at 4pm when we will say goodbye to new friends before heading home with a hand-made spice blend ready to implement all that you have learned.
Tickets are £87 per person with the option of securing your place with a non-refundable deposit of £37 per person, the balance due two weeks before the date. There will be 8 spaces for this event and bookings are via bank transfer and email to firstname.lastname@example.org
